The Chinese, have a love-hate relationship for snakes, yet they respect, consume, and tout them. Several species are considered to have medicinal value; snake bile is touted for male virility, and all snakes are thought to strengthen and restore qi. Snake meat is used both fresh and pickled and is considered a delicacy.
