Estimating sodium in home recipes

A chart offering a rapid means of estimating the level of sodium (Na) in home-prepared meals is presented. The chart provides the amount of Na in various levels of table salt used in recipes and in fixed portions of various condiments and seasonings. Resources for additional information on salt consumed in the home and on a urine test strip for monitoring salt intakes are cited. (wz)
