The studies revealed that among soil insecticides applied in March, carbaryl (10% dust) showed maximum cumulative mortality % of 51.2, followed by chlorpyrifos (10 G) to the extent of 47.7%. The efficacy with respect to cumulative mean % mortality among the foliar insecticides applied at recommended concentrations during the month of May against Drosicha dalbergiae showed the following descending order; methyl-o-demeton (64.0) > dimethoate (56.9) > chlorpyrifos (45.61) > 30 days after treatment. The efficacy of soil as well as foliar insecticides when applied on same plants showed the highest mean mortality % of 71.1 was obtained when carbaryl (10% dust) was applied in the month of March followed by dimethoate (0.03%) applied during May.
