Effect of Precipitation and Long Term Nitrogen Fertilization on Nitrogen Uptake, Crude Protein Content and Yield of Bromegrass Forage
1963
Colville, W. L. | Chesnin, Leon | McGill, D. P.
SynopsisAverage yields of forage were increased up to 380% with annual applications of nitrogen fertilizer. Applications of 120 pounds per acre of nitrogen resulted in the most efficient use of rainfall. Yields of forage were decreased at the higher levels of precipitation. Crude protein content of the forage was increased from 8.96 to 14.83% by adding 160 pounds per acre of N. Nitrogen recovery averaged between 54.7 to 73.9%.
