The present investigations was carried to evaluate gladiolus cultivars for various vegetative, floral and corm characteristics. The observations were recorded for various traits viz. days to sprouting, number of leaves per plant, plant height (cm), number of days taken for spike emergence, spike length (cm), number of days taken for flowering, number of florets/spikes, number of corms/plant, number of cormels/plant, size of corms (cm), size of cormels (cm), weight of corms (g), weight of cormels (g). It was observed that cv. Bangladesh performed best with regard to vegetative and floral characters viz. minimum days to sprouting (15.07 days), days taken for spike emergence (43.00 days), days for flowering (57.07 days), maximum number of leaves per plant (8.07), plant height (118.33 cm), number of florets per spike (16.40), spike length (73.27 cm). However, cv. Black Star produced the maximum number of cormels per plant (67.60) and had maximum weight of the cormels (1.15 g) whereas cv. Cimarosa had the maximum size (4.50 cm) and weight (78.03 g) of the corms. However the maximum size of the cormels (0.54 cm) was observed in cv. Bangladesh.
