Managing the metric mystery
1978
The ease of adjusting to the metric system for cooking and food shopping is stressed. It is a decimal system like our monetary and numeration systems. For use in everyday life, only about ten new units and a few new temperatures need to be learned. Commonly used terms and prefixes are defined. Tables show useful measurement equivalents for length, area, volume, and weight, and equivalents of common capacity and weight units used in cooking. Recipes for codfish casserole and chocolate chip cookies are included.
