Pangamic acid...'vitamin B15'

The physiological, pharmacological, and nutritional claims of pangamic acid, "Vitamin B15," are evaluated. This compound, derived from apricot seeds, is not a vitamin, possesses no known nutrient value, and is considered an illegal drug by the FDA. Claims that pangamic acid has high lipotropic activity that protects liver from fat accumulations, improves muscular activity through creative biosynthesis, enhances oxygen utilization, improves coronary circulation, combats venereal disease and aging are unsubstantiated by scientific studies.
