Scrotal squamous cell carcinoma in a Kathiawari horse

Squamous cell carcinoma is one of the most common malignant epithelial skin tumours of all domestic animals, mostly oc-curring in the non-pigmented part of the skin. In horses, occurrence is common in eye, mucocutaneous junctions and genitalia.An eight year old Kathiawari horse was presented with growth in the scrotum. A yellowish pink, raised, cauliflower like mass was noticed in the left scrotum near the base of the prepuce. Histopathology of biopsy revealed neoplastic squamous cells arranged in islands, cords and trabeculae. Few differentiated islands showed keratin pearls. Based on the histopathological features, the case was diagnosed as squamous cell carcinoma of scrotum in a male Kathiawari horse.
