Number of kernels per ear of corn depending on weather conditions and farming practices
2015
Bagrintseva, V. N.
An analysis of the results of investigations at the All-Russian Corn Research Institute and its Stavropol branch showed a strong dependence of the formation of kernels per ear of corn on climate and weather conditions during growth and development as well as on elements of cultivation technology. To produce a greater number of corn kernels, it is necessary to plant early, grow with an optimal plant density after the best forecrops, using the most effective methods of primary tillage, fertilizers, and herbicides for weed control.
