Water fluoridation dental caries osteoporosis: old and new views on the flouridation of drinking water
1977
Groot, E.H.
The effects of fluoridation of drinking water (FDW) were studied in the Netherlands. Comparisons were made between residents of a town which had FDW and a town which did not have it.Analysis of the results indicates that children drinking FDW had fewer dental cavities; moreover, there are strong indications that fluoride, or FDW, has a favorableinfluence on the mineral content, density and hardness of the whole skeleton and consequently reduces the onset of osteoporosis in advanced age.
