Effects of Nitrogen and Sulfur Fertilization on Yield and Malting Quality of Barley
1961
Reisenauer, H. M. | Dickson, A. D.
SynopsisBarley yields in three field experiments were increased by nitrogen and sulfur fertilization with a significant nitrogen × sulfur yield interaction. The higher rates of nitrogen fertilization decreased kernel size, increasd barley, malt, and wort nitrogen, and reduced malting quality. Sulfur fertilization had no effect on nitrogen content but increased the enzymatic activities of the malts.
