In the region Jennersdorf/St. Martin a. d. Raab river engineering measures were undertaken, wich served not only flood protection for important infrastructure but also safeguarded ecological interests. The set of measures primarily ensured the protection against flooding of the industrial and commercial area in Jennersdorf. By reconnecting cut-off meanders and constructing fish passes hydro-ecological improvements were achieved as well. Their effectiveness even beyond the project region has already been proven by monitoring.
