Corn leafhopper, Dalbulus maidis (DeLong and Wolcott), can negatively impact production of maize (Zea mays L.) through direct damage while feeding and possible transmission of three plant pathogens. We present evidence of reemergence of D. maidis on maize in South Texas during the summer of 2016. Insect specimens resembling the exotic and invasive pest were collected in surveys at an experimental plot and a commercial field of maize in South Texas. Morphological and molecular taxonomy were used to validate identity of the species.
