1993
Morrone, O. | Filgueiras, T.S. | Zuloaga, F.O. | Dubcovsky, J.
A taxonomic revision of Anthaenantiopsis (Poaceae) is presented. Four species and a new variety, A. perforata var. camporum, are recognized in this treatment. This neotropical panicoid genus, present in Brazil, Bolivia, Paraguay and Argentina, includes perennial, Kranz species, of the MS anatomical type, with a basic chromosome number of x = 10. Generic deliminations and tribal affinities are also discussed: Anthaenantiopsis is distinguished from other genera of the Paniceae by its pilose spikelets in spiciform or racemose panicles, the spikelets with a scale-like lower glume, lower flower staminate, and upper lemma with membranous margins, the upper palea gaping after anthesis.
