Biorational management of vectors of Churda murda disease on chilli

A field experiment was conducted during kharif 2010–11 to evaluate the efficacy of different conventional and eco-friendly insecticides against sucking pests on chilli at Department of Agricultural Entomology, College of Agriculture, Nagpur (MS). Nine treatments (T₁ = Azadirachtin @ 003%, T₂ = Azadirachtin @ 0.15%, T₃ = Neem seed extract @ 5%, T₄ = Neem oil @ 0.5%, T₅ = Neem oil @ 0.1%, T₆ = Metarhizium anisopliae @ 1 × 10⁸ concentration conidia/ml, T₇ = Verticillium lecanii @ 1 × 10⁸ concentration conidia/ml, T₈ = Malathion 50EC + Sulphur 80%WP @ 0.1% + 0.25 g and T₉ = control). Maximum per cent reduction of sucking pest as well as yield over untreated was found in Malathion 50EC 0.1% + Sulphur 80%WP @ 0.25 g. An incremental cost benefit ratio (ICBR) was observed the rank in order T₈ ≥ T₁ ≥ T₂ ≥ T₄ ≥ T₅ ≥ T₇ ≥ T₃ ≥ T₆.
