Some moments of connection between frost resistance and selection method of citrus fruits.

The paper emphasizes the connection of frost resistance with genetics. It is indicated that the frost resistance property, like other polygenic properties, is programmed in the genetic apparatus of wintering plant cells. There is also an opinion that the presence of a certain group of genes distinguishes frost-resistant plants from non-frost-resistant ones. The perspective of the nucellar selection method for increasing this quality is substantiated. The fact of relatively high frost resistance of nucellar relatives is substantiated by the research results of many well-known authors. It is concluded that the nucellar selection method, along with other methods, is indispensable for obtaining frost-resistant varieties and forms of citrus fruits. Ref. 5.
