Spring barley quality in Kroměříž biological transformed organic matter trial

In 2014, a small-plot field experiment was established at the Kroměříž - Postoupky locality to study the effect of the application of fermented manure and soil improvers on the growth, yield and quality of cereals. In 2016 and 2020, spring barley KWS Irina was grown on the site as part of the cropping system. During the vegetation, plant samples were taken in three growth stages for nutrient composition and after harvest the yield and basic quality parameters of malting barley were determined. The application of organic matter and soil improvers led to a certain increase in yield in both years, changes in quality parameters were different in each year and depended to a large extent on the weather.
