En este trabajo se continúa el análisis de la situación relacionada con la conservación de las plantas medicinales y los conocimientos de medicina tradicional, en particular el manejo de la información relacionada con estos temas, el riesgo que representa la pérdida de biodiversidad asociada a diversos factores y la influencia que el desarrollo biotecnológico puede tener sobre el uso sostenible de las plantas medicinales, siguiendo la visión del organismo rector mundial, la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS). Se resume la opinión de importantes especialistas en el tema.

This work continues the analysis of the situation related to the conservation of medicinal plants and the knowledge of traditional medicine, in particular the management of information related to these themes, the risk represented by the loss of biodiversity associated to various factors and the influence that biotechnological development can have on the sustainable use of medicinal plants, following the vision of the world governing body, the World Health Organization (WHO). It summarizes the opinion of important specialists in the subject.
