This document contains a report on its work in the Caribbean, comprising the countries of CARICOM plus the Dominican Republic and Haiti, conducted primarily through its Caribbean Regional Centre, to the SCMA. The report which covers the period june 1996 to may 1997, consists of the following major sections: 1. Framework for IICAs achievements, b. the resources committed by the institute, c. the activities grouped according to the major programmes of the Regional Transformation Programme as approved by the Conference of Heads of Government in july 1996, d. the highlights of the programme for the period 1997-1998. Este documento contiene un informe sobre su trabajo en el Caribe, que comprende los países de CARICOM más la República Dominicana y Haití, realizado principalmente a través de su Centro Regional del Caribe, a la SCMA. El informe, que abarca el período de junio de 1996 a mayo de 1997, consta de las siguientes secciones principales: 1. Marco de los logros del IICA, b. los recursos comprometidos por el instituto, c. las actividades agrupadas según los grandes programas del Programa de Transformación Regional aprobado por la Conferencia de Jefes de Gobierno en julio de 1996, d. los aspectos más destacados del programa para el período 1997-1998.
