Ocena tehničke efikasnosti u sektoru mlečnog govedarstva u Republici Srbiji

The imperative of optimizing the use of natural resources aligns with one of the fundamental objectives of agrarian policy – enhancing the efficiency of agricultural production. To address this, our study scrutinizes dairy farms in the Republic of Serbia over the period 2015-2021. Our sample consists of 104 farms, and we relied on the FADN sample as our primary data source. The primary aim of this research was to evaluate the technical efficiency of the farms under analysis, employing stochastic frontier analysis. The findings indicate that, on average, the technical efficiency of these farms stood at 63.5% during the observed period. These results suggest that there is room for improvement in the performance of both agricultural producers and farms, which could lead to increased efficiency within the dairy farming sector.
