Agromorphological Characterization of Turkish Tomato Germplasm | Türkiye Domates Genetik Kaynaklarının Agromorfolojik Karakterizasyonu

Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.), a vegetable crop of the Solanaceae family, is produced in large quantities throughout the world. The tomato is not native to Turkey but it is possible to see its wide variability there. In this study, data recorded through the characterization of 170 tomato accessions initially collected from 60 different provinces of Turkey, between 1973-2011, and conserved in the Aegean Agricultural Research Institute National Seed Gene Bank, and 10 checks were investigated for 30 agromorphologic traits. The minimum, maximum, average values, and frequency percentages of the characters were determined. This study has shown that there is wide diversity in the tomato accessions. This diversity is especially a great resource for developing new tomato varieties.
Show more [+] Less [-]Domates (Solanum lycopersicum L.), dünyada büyük miktarlarda üretimi yapılan, Solanaceae familyasına ait bir sebze türüdür. Ülkemiz domatesin anavatanı olmamakla birlikte çeşitlilik merkezidir. Bu çalışmada; Ege Tarımsal Araştırma Enstitüsü, Ulusal Tohum Gen Bankası’nda bulunan, 1973-2011 yılları arasında, 7 bölgeyi kapsayan, 60 farklı ilden toplanmış, 170 adet domates popülasyonu ve 10 adet ticari çeşidin 30 agromorfolojik özellik yönünden karakterizasyonu yapılmıştır. İncelenen karakterlerin minimum, maksimum, ortalama değerleri ve frekans yüzdeleri belirlenmiştir. Bu çalışma domates aksesyonlarında geniş bir çeşitliliğin olduğunu göstermiştir. Bu çeşitlilik özellikle yeni domates çeşitleri geliştirmek için büyük bir kaynaktır.
