In Ecuador there are two types of official cartography: Land mapping and nautical charting developed by the Military Geographic Institute and the Oceanographic Institute of the Navy respectively, however, this essay aims to detail the methodology for establishing obtain a vertical datum from the records of sea level change in the pattern of Liberty Station (02º13’ 04”S, 80º54’23”W).
