The black line rasbora, Rasbora daniconius (Hamilton) is a popular Indigenous ornamental fish and popular among the hobbyists all over the world due to their elegant outlines, habits and graceful and majestic movements. Successful breeding and larval rearing was conducted on 12 fish of varying size in glass aquaria of similar size under controlled condition. Successful maturity and spawning were obtained at the 8+ month of age. The number of eggs from a single spawning act varied from 225 to 340. Fertilization and hatching percentage were 96.5%, and 79.5%, respectively. Successful larval has been found to be matter of feeding and water quality management. On an average, 200 fry were obtained after 90 days of rearing.
