La Reserva Forestal Protectora Buenavista se localiza sobre las primeras estribaciones del Piedemonte de la cordillera Oriental, en el municipio de Villavicencio del departamento del Meta, donde se presentan gran parte de los movimientos de masa, lo cual esta afectación está asociada a la distribución espacial de la población y las actividades llevadas a cabo en la zona de estudio, lo anterior sumado, a que también se presentan altas condiciones de precipitación aunadas a las fuertes pendientes de la zona. De acuerdo con esto, fue pertinente proponer alternativas de tipo estructural para la mitigación de movimientos de masa en suelos inestables y de tipo instrumental con la instalación de equipos para su monitoreo como sistema de alerta temprana con el fin de reducir la probabilidad de amenazas a los elementos expuestos por la remoción en masa en la Reserva Forestal Protectora Buenavista.

The Buenavista Protective Forest reserve is located over the first foothills of the Piedmont of the eastern mountain range, in the municipal of Villavicencio in the department of Meta, where most of the mass movement occur, in which this affectation is associated with the spatial distribution of the population and activities being carried out in the study area, additionally there are high precipitation conditions coupled with the steep slopes of the area. According to the previously stated, it was pertinent to propose alternatives of a structural type for the migration of mass movements in unstable souls and of an instrumental type with the installation of equipment for its monitoring as a early warning system to reduce threat probability to the elements exposed by the mass removal in the Buenavista Forest Reserve.
