The present investigation was undertaken to study the effect of supportive therapy and immunisation (Râ‚‚B vaccination) on Ranikhet disease affected birds. Body temperature in birds treated with supportive therapy remained near normal after initial rise, whereas in non-treated Ranikhet affected birds, the temperature became subnormal. Mortality was markedly reduced (P<0.05; 24-32%) in birds given supportive therapy as compared to non-treated birds. Immunization did not have any beneficial effect on mortality of birds once the disease is confirmed from the flock.
