The article is devoted to the history of the formation and implementation of the European Green Deal project. Climate change and environmental degradation pose a serious threat to both Europe and the world as a whole. Over the past three decades, the European Union has developed numerous programs and participated in a number of climate change and renewable energy initiatives to address these challenges. The most important program in recent years has been the European Green Deal, which was adopted in 2019 and combines many goals, the achievement of which should lead to climate neutrality in the European region by 2050, as well as significantly accelerate the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere.
