The present paper wants to bring more knowledge regarding the environment, the legislation regarding environmental conservation, as well as notions regarding ecology and environmental protection. The authors consider the topic exciting due to its topicality, expansion and importance, requiring extensive research and documentation, to assemble the knowl edge necessary for its development. Environmental protection is a major is sue of the last decade debated worldwide, a fact that has given rise to nu merous disputes between developed and developing countries. Our envi ronmental policies ensure a clean environment for the health of the coun try's inhabitants, decrease poverty and environmental damage, ensure eco nomic growth for the benefit of current and future generations, and harmo nize specific environmental legislation with that of the European Union. But, without behavioral transformations from human beings' side and our edu cation in this sense, sustainable development can’t be ensured.
