Among the plants traditionally used in Morocco to reduce nervousness and promote sleep, verbena (Lippia citriodora), known in Arabic as "Louisa," is frequently utilized. It is traditionally used in infusion, primarily for its sedative and myorelaxant properties, especially in newborns. Our objective is to conduct a bibliographical study on the extraction of essential oils from the aerial parts of verbena and to identify the composition of its essential oil. Furthermore, attention has been given to the various uses of verbena, both as a therapeutic and cosmetic agent. The first application led to the identification of different biological activities of verbena essential oil, including antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antiparasitic activities. The second and final application allowed us to conclude that verbena is an excellent ally for achieving healthier and more beautiful skin. It possesses tonic, healing, and soothing properties
