Distribution of the number of different-size mesoplankton organisms was studied in the surface layer (4 m deep). A counter of particles was used for recording the number of organisms. It is shown that distribution of different-scale spots (2-20 miles) is close to exponential one. Under the preset spatial discreteness of the measurements the average scale of the spots formed in the surface layer is equal to 3-7 miles. In spots of such a scale the average number of individuals decreases in transition from small-size groups to larger ones.
Show more [+] Less [-]С помощью счетчиков частиц изучали распределение численности организмов мезопланктона в поверхностном слое. Показано, что распределение пятен различного масштаба (от 2 до 20 миль) на обследованной акватории близко к экспоненциальному. При заданной, пространственной дискретности измерений средний масштаб пятен, образуемых разноразмерными организмами мезопланктона, равен 3—7 милям. В пятнах такого масштаба средняя численность особей уменьшается при переходе от мелких размерных групп к более крупным.
