Spatial structure of tree stands in the ecotone forest-mountain tundra on the slopes of Dalniy Taganai (Southern Ural) | Особенности формирования древостоев в экотоне лес – горная тундра (г. Дальний Таганай, Южный Урал)

English. The features of the forest stand formation in the highlands of the Southern Ural, namely near Dalniy Taganay Mountain, have been studied with various methods: enumerative inventory, laser scanning of forest stands and their remote shooting from unmanned aerial vehicles. It has been established that lidar survey allows to determine the height of trees, the shape and size of their crowns with sufficient accuracy. At the same time, a slight systematic underestimation of the height due to the presence of a dense living ground cover can if necessary be eliminated by establishing correction factors. In the studied ecotone, the density of the canopy of forest stands and their average height naturally increase with decreasing height above sea level. This is due to the improvement of soil and climatic conditions and an increase in the age of trees with a decrease in the altitudinal position of forest areas. The existing deviations from this regularity are explained by the local conditions of the habitat. On the slopes of different exposures, the processes of formation of forest stands proceed with unequal intensity. This is due to the fact that the exposition largely determines the degree of insolation of the slopes, the features of the redistribution of snow masses by the western and southwestern winds prevailing in the area and their depth, the timing of snowmelt, the moisture content in the soil, and other conditions important for the renewal and growth of trees. In the highlands of the Dalniy Taganay Mountain, more favorable conditions for the formation of woody vegetation are formed on the slopes of the northern exposure, limited by points NW 45 degrees – NW 45 degrees. Forest stands on these slopes move higher uphill; at the same altitude levels they have higher indicators of canopy closure and average height than on the slopes of other exposures.

Russian. Приведены результаты исследований особенностей формирования древостоев в высокогорьях Южного Урала (г. Дальний Таганай), проведенных с применением различных методов: измерительно-перечислительной таксации, лазерного сканирования древостоев и дистанционной съемки их с беспилотных летательных аппаратов. Установлено, что лидарная съемка позволяет с достаточной точностью определить высоту деревьев, форму и размеры их крон. При этом небольшое систематическое занижение высоты, обусловленное наличием плотного живого напочвенного покрова, при необходимости может быть устранено установлением поправочных коэффициентов. В исследуемом экотоне сомкнутость полога древостоев и их средняя высота закономерно повышаются с уменьшением высоты над уровнем моря. Это связано с улучшением почвенно-климатических условий и увеличением возраста деревьев с понижением высотного положения лесных участков. Имеющиеся отклонения от этой закономерности объясняются локальными условиями местопроизрастания. На склонах различной экспозиции процессы формирования древостоев протекают с неодинаковой интенсивностью. Это обусловлено тем, что экспозиция в значительной степени определяет степень инсоляции склонов, особенности перераспределения снежных масс господствующими в районе западными и юго-западными ветрами и их глубину, сроки снеготаяния, содержание влаги в почве и другие важные для возобновления и роста древесных растений условия. В высокогорьях г. Дальний Таганай более благоприятные условия для формирования древесной растительности складываются на склонах северной экспозиции, ограниченных румбами СЗ 45 градусов – СВ 45 градусов. Древостои на этих склонах продвигаются выше в гору, на одних и тех же высотных уровнях имеют более высокие показатели сомкнутости полога и средней высоты, чем на склонах других экспозиций.
