Estudio experimental de gasificación en un gasificador downdraft prototipo

La provincia de Salta posee potencial para aprovechamiento energético de biomasa residual. Consecuentemente, se inició un proyecto I+D con el fin de abastecer energéticamente al sector agroindustrial a partir de biomasa residual. En este marco, se realizaron una serie de ensayos de gasificación utilizando un modelo downdraft prototipo desarrollado localmente. Se apunta principalmente a evaluar la incidencia de ciertos factores: tipo y tamaño de biomasa (briquetas de aserrín prensado de 6 cm de diámetro por 3 cm de alto y pino en cubos de 27 cm3), contenido de humedad (4,9% y 10,5% respectivamente) y caudal de aire insuflado. Se midió temperatura interna y externa, tasa de consumo de biomasa, tiempo hasta generación de syngas y tiempo neto de generación. Se detectaron aspectos mejorables en el diseño, aislación y sistema de inyección de aire. Las briquetas presentaron menor tasa de consumo, menor temperatura de syngas y menor tiempo neto de generación, pero también menor tiempo hasta generación de syngas.

Salta province has potential for the energetic use of residual biomass. In this way, an I+D is being executed in order to suply agroindustrial activities with energy from residual biomass. Under this framework, a number of gasifiaction trials had been performed in a prototype of downdraft gasifier which was locally developed. Main objective is to assess the influence of certain factors: type and size of biomass (discs of pressed sawdust of 6 cm diameter and 3 cm tall and pine dices of 27 cm3), moisture content (4,9% and 10,5% respectively) and injected air flow. Variables monitored were internal and external temperatura, biomass consumption rate, time elapsed until syngas generation and net time transcurred with syngas generation. Improvement oportunities were detected related to design, insulation and air inyection system. Pressed sawdust showed less biomass consumption rate, less syngas temperature and less net time transcurred with syngas generation, but also less time elapsed until syngas generation.
