Ante la situación de escasez de agua potable que sufren muchas zonas de diversos países debido a sequías o por falta de cobertura de acueducto, la empresa israelí Watergen decidió revolucionar con una máquina capaz de convertir el aire en agua. De ahí nace la idea de este trabajo de grado, el cual tiene como objetivo evaluar la viabilidad de implementación de la máquina Watergen para el suministro de agua potable en el barrio el Bajito ubicado en el municipio de Tumaco, que por estar ubicado en zonas de bajamar no cuentan con acueducto, provocando una alta tasa de enfermedades gastrointestinales. (WASH, 2014). Esta investigación se definió como tipo Descriptivo, en el cual fue necesario realizar un diagnóstico de la cantidad de habitantes y el agua potable necesaria para abastecerlos. Con ayuda de herramientas computacionales como Python y Google Collaboratory se realizó un análisis estadístico de los datos hidrometeorológicos presentes en Tumaco y así seleccionar el modelo Watergen necesario por medio de un análisis de oferta-demanda entre el agua potable generada por el dispositivo y la necesidad de la población. A partir de este método y desde el enfoque de ingeniería ambiental se dio a conocer la crisis de agua potable que viven algunas comunidades, en donde es necesario implementar métodos innovadores como el dispositivo Watergen, proporcionando agua potable de manera ilimitada a las comunidades necesitadas y al mismo tiempo preservando los recursos naturales, haciendo un aporte significativo para mitigar contaminación ambiental al reducir el uso del plástico. Faced with the shortage of drinking water in many areas of various countries due to drought or lack of aqueduct coverage, the Israeli company Watergen decided to revolutionize with a machine capable of converting air into water. Hence the idea of this degree work was born, which aims to evaluate the feasibility of implementing the Watergen machine for the supply of drinking water in the Bajito neighborhood located in the municipality of Tumaco, which because it is in low tide areas do not have aqueduct, causing a high rate of gastrointestinal diseases. (WASH, 2014). This research was defined as Descriptive type, in which it was necessary to make a diagnosis of the number of inhabitants and the drinking water needed to supply them. With the help of computational tools such as Python and Google Collaboratory, a statistical analysis of the hydrometeorological data present in Tumaco was performed to select the necessary Watergen model by means of a supply-demand analysis between the drinking water generated by the device and the need of the population. From this method and from the environmental engineering approach, the drinking water crisis experienced by some communities was revealed, where it is necessary to implement innovative methods such as the Watergen device, providing unlimited drinking water to the communities in need and at the same time preserving natural resources, making a significant contribution to mitigate environmental pollution by reducing the use of plastic.
