Para aprovechar el agua lluvia como fuente alterna es necesario conocer su calidad. En este artículo se presentan resultados de evaluación de calidad del agua lluvia, medida por su pH, alcalinidad, acidez, dióxido de carbono (CO2), dureza, turbidez, color, conductividad, absorción ultravioleta (AUV), demanda química de oxígeno (DQO) y conteo de coliformes. Se encontró que todos los parámetros de calidad del agua lluvia analizados cumplen con la norma colombiana de agua potable, con excepción de pH, turbiedad, color y conteo de coliformes. Los análisis indican que la calidad del agua lluvia depende de la captación, así como del periodo y recorrido en el ambiente(1).
Show more [+] Less [-]The harnessing of rainwater as an alternative resource requires the knowledge of its quality. This article evaluates rainwater quality parameters such as pH, alkalinity, acidity, carbon dioxide, hardness, turbidity, color, conductivity, ultraviolet absorption, chemical oxygen demand and coliform count. It was observed that all the parameters of rainwater quality measured were within the permissible limits specified in the Colombian drinking water standard with the exception of pH, turbidity, color and coliform count. The analysis showed that the quality of rainwater depends on the conditions of the catchment and the period and way of its transportation(1).
