Influence of bulls on the results of calving of their daughters | Влияние быков-производителей на результаты отёлов их дочерей

English. Improving the reproductive qualities of cows is one of the important issues of domestic cattle breeding. The scientific article examines certain issues of assessing the reproductive qualities in dairy cattle. The research was carried out in one of the farms situated in the Orel region. A retrospective analysis of the calving results in the herd was used, including an analysis of the pedigrees of dairy cows. To clarify the origin of the breeding sires, official sources were used, including websites of the Alta Genetics Russia and of the Orlovsky Kolos subsidiary farm. The studies showed that the fathers in the cow pedigrees belonged to the lines Annas Adema 30587, Wis Back Ideal 1013415, Reflection Sovereign 198998, Seiling Triune Rocket 252803, Montvik Chieftain 95679, etc. It was established that the daughters of the sire Don 1919 (104 calvings) did not produce twin calves or stillborn calves. In the daughters of the sire Emir 35, it was found that out of 175 born calves obtained from his daughters, 14.6% of the heads were twins, but 4.6% of the calves were born dead, including twins. Sire Proudy 51, as the father of cow mothers, contributed to the fact that out of 29 calves obtained, 8 were dead (this amounted to 27.6% of the number of calves born). In total, 27 twins and 41 dead calves were revealed in the herd studied. The correlation between the numbers of twins and of stillborn calves was r=0.524. It was concluded that the result of calving a cow is largely determined by the genetic characteristics of her father. Based on the research results, preference should be given to those sires which daughters had easier calving and, accordingly, no stillborn calves. The presence of twins in dairy cows should also not be a priority in breeding and selection for reproductive qualities.

Russian. Повышение воспроизводительных качеств коров – одна из важных проблем отечественной селекции. Рассмотрены отдельные вопросы оценки воспроизводительных качеств молочного скота. Проведены исследования в одном из хозяйств Орловской области. Был использован ретроспективный анализ результатов отёлов в стаде, в т.ч. анализ родословных коров дойного стада. В качестве уточнения происхождения быков-производителей использовались официальные источники, в т.ч. сайты "Alta Genetics Russia" и АО Подсобное хозяйство "Орловский Колос". Исследования показали, что отцы в родословных коров принадлежали линиям Аннас Адема 30587, Вис Бэк Айдиал 1013415, Рефлекшн Соверинг 198998, Силинг Трайджун Рокит 252803, Монтвик Чифтейн 95679 и др. Установлено, что у дочерей быка-производителя Дона 1919 (104 отёла) телят-двоен и рожденных мёртвыми телят получено не было. У дочерей быка-производителя Эмира 35 обнаружено, что из 175 рождённых телят, полученных от его дочерей, 14,6% голов были двойнями, однако 4,6% телят были рождены мёртвыми, в том числе из числа двоен. Бык Гордый 51 как отец матерей-коров способствовал тому, что из 29 полученных телят мёртвыми были 8 голов (это составило 27,6% от числа рождённых телят). Всего в изученном стаде было пролечено 27 двоен и 41 мёртвый телёнок. Между количеством двоен и количеством мертворождённых телят корреляция составила r=0,524. Сделан вывод, что результат отёла коровы во многом детерминируется генетическими особенностями её отца. Предпочтение следует отдавать тем быкам-производителям, у дочерей которых отёлы проходят легче и соответственно отсутствуют мертворождённые телята. Наличие двоен у молочных коров также не должно являться приоритетным направлением селекции и отбора по воспроизводительным качествам.
