The influence of protective forest plantings on the granulometric composition of soils in the dry steppe zone of the Volgograd region | Влияние защитных лесопосадок на гранулометрический состав почв в сухостепной зоне Волгоградской области

English. The article presents the results of a comparative analysis of the spatial distribution of soil granulometric fractions under anti-deflation forest plantations and in a biogeochemically connected open steppe landscape in the dry steppe zone of the Volgograd region. The soil cover is represented by dark chestnut soils (Haplic Kastanozems). The initial data were the results of determining the granulometric composition and basic properties of soils on 10 sample plots in 30 soil sections in 10-centimeter layers. The content of physical sand and physical clay was used as indicators of differences in the soil texture of the studied areas in terms of granulometric composition. A statistical assessment of the variability of physical clay content depending on the biogeocenosis and burial depth, as well as an assessment of intrabiogeocenosis variability, was carried out. The soil density values in the steppe landscape are significantly higher than in the forest landscape for the 0-10 cm layer – 1.43±0.03 g/cm3 and 1.11±0.07 g/cm3, respectively). Significant statistical differences (p less than 0.05) were revealed between sample averages in physical clay content for forest and steppe areas in the surface 0-10 cm layer. The content of sand fractions in soils under forest plantations is on average two times higher. The soils of the forest under-canopy space are sandier on the surface, compared to soils of open intercrown spaces. Significant differences were established in the distribution of granulometric fractions in the forest area in the layer of 0-10 and 20-30 cm; for the steppe area, intrabiogeocoenotic variability is insignificant. It was concluded that forest plantings retain and accumulate deflated particles. This obviously leads to a decrease in the intensity of deflation and the rate of development of degradation processes in the adjacent landscape. The small proportion of fine fractions in forest soils and their mechanical filtration along the profile complicates the processes of humus formation under forest plantations.

Приведены результаты сравнительного анализа пространственного распределения гранулометрических фракций почвы под противодефляционными лесопосадками и в биогеохимически связанном открытом степном ландшафте в сухостепной зоне Волгоградской области. Почвенный покров представлен темно-каштановыми почвами. Исходными данными явились результаты определения гранулометрического состава и базовых свойств почв на 10 пробных площадях в 30 почвенных разрезах по 10-сантиметровым слоям. В качестве показателей различия почв изученных участков по гранулометрическому составу использовано содержание физического песка и физической глины. Проведены статистическая оценка вариабельности содержания физической глины в зависимости от биогеоценоза и глубины залегания, а также оценка внутрибиогеоценозной вариабельности. Плотность почвы в степном ландшафте значительно выше, чем в лесном для слоя 0-10 см – 1,43±0,03 и 1,11±0,07 г/см3 соответственно. Выявлены значимые статистические различия (р меньше 0,05) между выборочными средними по содержанию физической глины для лесного и степного участков в поверхностном 0-10 см слое. Содержание песчаных фракций в почвах под лесными посадками в среднем в 2 раза выше. Почвы лесного подкронового пространства более опесчанены с поверхности, по сравнению с почвами открытых межкроновых пространств. Установлены значимые различия в распределении гранулометрических фракций на лесном участке в слое 0-10 и 20-30 см, для степного участка внутрибиогеоценозная вариабельность незначима. Сделан вывод, что лесопосадки задерживают и аккумулируют дефлированные частицы. Это, очевидно, приводит к снижению интенсивности дефляции и скорости развития деградационных процессов в прилегающем ландшафте. Малая доля тонкодисперсных фракций в лесных почвах и их механическая фильтрация по профилю затрудняют процессы гумусообразования под лесными насаждениями.
