Sorção e persistência do clomazone em horizontes de um latossolo vermelho-amarelo | Sorption and persistence of clomazone in horizons of a red-yellow latossol

A viabilidade econômica do cultivo de grandes áreas depende da utilização de herbicidas para o controle de plantas daninhas. Esta técnica tem a preferência dos produtores por ser eficiente e de baixo custo em comparação com outros métodos preventivo, cultural, mecânico, biológico e quimico. Entretanto, o conhecimento prévio do comportamento dos herbicidas nos diferentes solos é condição necessária para se garantir a eficiência agronômica do método e prevenir os efeitos indesejáveis desses compostos no ambiente. O conhecimento da sorção e da persistência (meia-vida) de um herbicida são parâmetros esseciais para se prever o seu comportamento no ambiente, ao atingir o solo uma parte das moléculas ficará sorvida em seus coloides e a outra parte livre na solução. Neste trabalho foram determinadas a capacidade de sorção, dessorção e a meia-vida do clomazone nos horizontes A, B e C de um Latossolo Vermelho-Amarelo, utilizando métodos biológico e químico. Foram realizados quatro experimentos. No primeiro foi estimada a sorção do clomazone, utilizando ensaio biológico, tendo como espécie indicadora da presença do herbicida na solução do solo plantas de Sorghum bicolor. No segundo e terceiro, respectivamente, foram determinadas as isotermas de sorção e dessorção pelo método “Batch Equilibrium” sendo o clomazone quantificado por cromatografia líquida de alta eficiência (CLAE). No quarto experimento foi determina a meia-vida do clomazone. O herbicida foi extraído das amostras pelo método QuEChERS adaptado, que foi validado e quantificado por CLAE. Maior sorção e dessorção do clomazone ocorreu nas amostras do horizonte A. Neste horizonte constatou-se menor persistência (meia-vida) do herbicida. Os valores de meia-vida (t1⁄2) observados permitiram classificar o clomazone como não persistente quando presente no horizonte A do Latossolo Vermelho-Amarelo e muito persistente nos demais horizontes. Concluiu- se que a sorção, dessorção e meia-vida do clomazone nas amostras dos horizontes do Latossolo Vermelho-Amarelo são influenciadas pelas características químicas e físicas, sendo a matéria orgânica o atributo que mais influencia esses parâmetros.

The economic feasibility of growing large areas depends on the use of herbicides to control weeds. This technique has the preference of producers for being efficient and low cost compared with other preventive methods, cultural, mechanical, biological and chemical. However, prior knowledge of the behavior of herbicides in different soils is a necessary condition to guarantee the efficacy of the method and prevent the undesirable effects of these compounds in the environment. Knowledge of sorption and persistence (half-life) of a herbicide are essential parameters to predict your behaviour in the environment, upon reaching the ground part of the molecules to be sipped on his and the other part free colloids in solution. In this work were determined the ability of sorption, desorption and the half-life of clomazone in A, B and C horizons of a red-yellow Latosol, using biological and chemical methods. Four experiments were carried out. The first was estimated the sorption of clomazone, using biological test, with the indicator species for the presence of the herbicide in soil solution plants of Sorghum bicolor. In the second and third, respectively, were determined the sorption isotherms and desorption by the method "Batch Equilibrium" clomazone being quantified by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). In the fourth experiment was determines the half-life of clomazone. The herbicide was extracted from the samples by QuEChERS method adapted, that has been validated and quantified by HPLC. Greater sorption and desorption of clomazone occurred in the samples of the horizon to this horizon was found less persistence (half-life) of the herbicide. The values of half-life (t1⁄2) observed allowed rank clomazone as not persistent when present in the horizon of red-yellow Latosol and very persistent in other horizons. It was found that sorption, desorption and half-life of clomazone in samples of red-yellow Latosol horizons are influenced by the chemical and physical characteristics, being organic matter the attribute that most influences these parameters.
