This article seeks to explain what is happening in South America in water and sanitation issues; It deals with the treatment of data that were generated in the period of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), through the method of compositional data. And at the same time shows the behavior of each country and the future of South America in the increase of coverage in water and sanitation. It also estimates access to piped water and sanitation in the years 2020, 2025 and 2030.
