As configurações sócio-espaciais das metrópoles têm sofrido grandes transformações em todo o planeta. Estas mudanças, desencadeadas principalmente pelas dimensões do capital, seja através dos avanços tecnológicos na base produtiva ou das reorientações neoliberais, geraram alterações significativas no campo social. Diante deste cenário, novas fragilidades e vulnerabilidades foram ampliadas, impulsionando milhões de indivíduos a condição de marginalidade social e miséria. Neste sentido, o objetivo central do presente trabalho é uma análise geográfica sobre as populações de rua na qual destacamos principalmente a posição deste segmento marginalizado no quadro sócioespacial da cidade, assim como seus enfrentamentos cotidianos em busca da sobrevivência no espaço das grandes metrópoles.
Show more [+] Less [-]The metropolis socio-spatial configurations have suffered huge transformations in all he planet. Such changes originated by the capital promoted a strong spatial restructuration of the economic activities, as well as a continuous technological advance in the productive base and significant alterations in the social field through the neoliberal reorientations. In front of this scenery, new fragilities and vulnerabilities were enlarged, leading millions of individuals to the condition of social marginality and misery. In this sense, the central objective of the present paper is to bring a geographical analysis of the homeless people in which we enlighten the segment marginalized position in the city sociospatial frame, as well as their daily battles in the seeking of spatial survival in the big metropolis.
