Comparación de los valores de glucosa en perros obtenidos a través de las dos técnicas de laboratorio Glucómetro y Espectrofotometría.

The aim of this research is to compare glucose values in dogs using glucometer and spectrophotometry techniques at the HOSPIVET Veterinary Hospital. This experimental work aims to know the problem, in this way to examine and compare the blood glucose levels of different canines depending on the breed, sex and age and thus be able to find a solution for those affected and determine the normal glucose values in them. Normal blood glucose levels in dogs vary depending on the dog's age, breed, size, and health. Generally speaking, a dog's fasting blood sugar level should be between 70 and 110 mg/dL. If your dog has eaten recently, his blood sugar may be temporarily elevated. (Webb, 2023). Low blood glucose in a dog is called hypoglycemia. Hypoglycemia can occur if a dog doesn't eat enough, gets too much exercise, or is sick. Symptoms of hypoglycemia in dogs include weakness, tremors, irritability, disorientation, and seizures. If a dog is suspected of hypoglycemia, it should be taken to the vet immediately. (Álvarez-Linares, 2017). ). At the level of Ecuador in the city of Cuenca it is reported research carried out on blood glucose in dogs, in the present research it is reported that the analysis of glucose levels in the 30 cases studied using the methodology of spectrophotometry found a Pearson's coefficient of 0.014 and a coefficient of variation of 27%. The analysis of glucose levels using the rapid test using the glucometer with a Pearson's coefficient of 0.163 and a coefficient of variation of 24%. Table 3 and 3.1 show the average amount of glucose per male and female using the two methods studied, with females being higher in both cases.

El Objetivo de la presente investigación es comparar los valores de glucosa en perros mediante las técnicas de glucómetro y espectrofotometría en el Hospital Veterinario HOSPIVET. Este trabajo experimental tiene la finalidad de conocer el problema, de esta manera examinar y comparar los niveles de glucosas en la sangre de diferentes caninos dependiendo de la raza, sexo y edad y así poder buscar una solución a los afectados y determinar los valores normales de glucosa en ellos. Los niveles normales de glucosa en sangre en los perros varían según la edad, la raza, el tamaño y la salud del perro. En términos generales, el nivel de azúcar en sangre en ayunas de un perro debe estar entre 70 y 110 mg/dL. Si su perro ha comido recientemente, su nivel de azúcar en sangre puede estar elevado temporalmente. (Webb, 2023). El nivel bajo de glucosa en sangre en un perro se llama hipoglucemia. La hipoglucemia puede ocurrir si un perro no come lo suficiente, hace demasiado ejercicio o está enfermo. Los síntomas de hipoglucemia en perros incluyen debilidad, temblores, irritabilidad, desorientación y convulsiones. Si se sospecha que un perro sufre hipoglucemia, se debe llevado al veterinario inmediatamente. (Álvarez-Linares, 2017). A nivel de Ecuador en la ciudad de Cuenca se reporta investigaciones realizadas de glucosas sanguínea en perros, en la presente investigación se reporta que el análisis de los niveles de glucosa en los 30 casos estudiados utilizando la metodología de la espectrofotometría encontrando un coeficiente de Pearson de 0,014 y un coeficiente de variación de 27%. El análisis de los niveles de glucosa utilizando la prueba rápida mediante el glucómetro con un coeficiente de Pearson de 0,163 y un coeficiente de variación de 24%. Podemos observar la tabla 3 y 3.1 la cantidad promedio de glucosa por machos y hembras mediante los dos métodos estudiados, siendo, en hembras, más elevado en ambos casos
