Macroinvertebrados acuáticos bentónicos (MAB) y su relación con la calidad del agua en el río Mashcón-Cajamarca, 2016

RESUMEN Los macroinvertebrados acuáticos bentónicos (MAB) son organismos que por sus características, tanto a nivel individual como de comunidad, son considerados como eficientes bioindicadores de la calidad de los cuerpos de agua. El objetivo del presente trabajo de investigación fué relacionar los cambios en la estructura comunitaria de los MAB con la variación de los parámetros asociados a la calidad del agua en el rio Mashcón. Para ello se seleccionaron cinco estaciones de muestreo en las cuales se tomaron muestras de agua para su análisis físico, químico y microbiológico y se recolectó los MAB, siendo preservados para su posterior análisis. Los parámetros de calidad del agua en las cinco estaciones de muestreo indican una notoria variación en cuanto a variables relacionadas a la cantidad de materia orgánica presente en el agua como el DBO5 y DQO; como también en los coliformes totales. Estos parámetros son asociados a perturbación de origen antrópico, lo que guarda relación con la proximidad de las estaciones de muestreo con asentamientos humanos. La comunidad de macroinvertebrados acuáticos bentónicos registrada en las cinco estaciones de muestreo totalizo 1 091 individuos que se distribuyeron en 7 órdenes y 17 familias, de las cuales 14 corresponden a familias de insectos, siendo el grupo con mayor presencia en las cinco estaciones. En las estaciones E1 y E2 se observó una mayor abundancia de la familia Chironomidae, que son considerados indicadores de aguas contaminadas con materia orgánica. En las estaciones E3, E4 y E5 fue la familia Batidae la que mayor abundancia presentó, aunque también se registró en la estación dos, que presenta un alto grado de perturbación, por lo que no indicaría precisamente aguas de buena calidad. No siendo el caso de la familia Leptophlebiidae (orden Ephemeroptera) y familias pertenecientes a los órdenes Trichoptera y Coleóptera que solo se registraron en las estaciones E4 y E5, que presentan una menor perturbación, por lo que estas familias indicarían una mejor calidad del agua. En cuanto a los índices de diversidad aplicados los resultados muestran que la estación cuatro y la estación E5 tienen la mayor diversidad (H´), lo que indicaría que son aguas de buena calidad. La comunidad de MAB se caracterizó en función del grupo trófico al que pertenecen. Los resultados muestran cómo estos varían en cada estación, encontrándose una baja diversidad en las estaciones E1, E2 y E3; en relación a las estaciones E4 y E5 que muestran una alta variedad de grupos tróficos. Los índices bióticos (IB) utilizados en este estudio mostraron una similar tendencia general en las cinco estaciones de muestreo y permitió definir ambientes en buen estado y otras, fuertemente impactadas desde el punto de vista biológico. Los índices bióticos indican que las estaciones uno, dos y tres son las que mayor perturbación presentan, siendo la estación uno la que mayor contaminación presentaría. Al analizar los resultados obtenidos en las cinco estaciones de muestreo en el rio Mashcón, se llega a la conclusión que existe una correlación entre los parámetros de calidad del agua y los MAB. Basándose en el estudio de la comunidad de MAB en función de la abundancia de familias, índices de diversidad, grupos tróficos y la aplicación de índices bióticos (IB) para determinar la calidad del agua; en relación a parámetros físicos, químicos y microbiológicos que se registraron en cada estación de muestreo. ABSTRACT Benthic aquatic macroinvertebrates (BAM), are organisms that by their characteristics, both individual level and as a community, are considered as efficient bioindicators of the quality of water bodies. The objective of this research was to relate changes in community structure of BAM with the variation of the parameters associated with water quality in the Mashcón river. For it, there were selected five sampling stations where water samples were taken for physical, chemical and microbiological analysis and were collected the BAM, which were preserved for further analysis. The parameters of water quality in the five sampling stations indicate a marked variation as for variables related to the quantity of organic matter present in water as the BOD 5 and COD; as also in total coliforms. These parameters are associated with anthropogenic disturbance, which is related to the proximity of the sampling stations with human settlements. The community of benthic aquatic macroinvertebrates recorded in the five sampling stations totaled 1,091 individuals who were distributed in 7 orders and 17 families, of which 14 correspond to insect families, being the group with the greatest presence at the five stations. On the stations E1 and E2 was observed a higher abundance of Chironomidae family, which are considered indicators of water contaminated with organic matter. On the stations E3, E4 and E5 was the Batidae family, which presented a higher abundance, though also was recorded on the station two, which has a high degree of disturbance, so it not precisely indicate waters of good quality. Not being the case of Leptophlebiidae family (order Ephemeroptera) and families belonging to the Trichoptera and Coleoptera orders that only were recorded in the E4 and E5 stations, which present a minor disturbance, for what these families would indicate a better quality of water. As for the diversity indexes applied to the results show that the E4 and E5 stations have the highest diversity (H´), which would indicate that these are waters of good quality. The BAM’s community was characterized in function of the trophic group that they belong. The results show how these vary in each station, finding a low diversity in the E1, E2 and E3 stations; in relation to E4 and E5 stations witch showing a high variety of trophic groups. The biotic indexes (BI) used in this study showed a similar general trend in the five sampling stations and it allowed to define environments in good condition and others, strongly impacted from the biological point of view. The biotic indexes indicate that the stations one, two and three are those that present major disturbance, being the station one, which a higher pollution would present. On having analyzed the results obtained in the five sampling stations in the Mashcón river, it is concluded that exist a correlation between the parameters of water quality and the BAM. Being based on the study of the BAM community in function of the abundance of family, diversity indexes, trophic groups and the application of biotic indexes (BI) to determine water quality; in relation to physical, chemical and microbiological parameters that were recorded at each sampling station.
