English. The speaker highlights the advance that the International Conference has presented, not only as far as the number of participants, but also the subjects which are being worked within it. He emphasizes the importance that the unpublished works have acquired which were presented on crops, processes and uses, as well as the benefits that the development of these types of projects brings to the palm sector, since research and the different experiences contribute to improve the competitivity of the different companies. He specially invites the Latin American countries to initiate, in the next Conference, an oil palm technological network, in which human, economic and infrastructure efforts are united, which will improve the agroindustry's competitivity, since the duplication of actions is not justified, when the problems that we have in common are so many. He points out the advances that the Colombian palm sector has achieved through Fedepalma, as far as strengthening of the guild and Cenipalma in the area of research and technical support for the growers.

Spanish; Castilian. Resalta el avance que ha presentado la Conferencia Internacional, no sólo en cuanto a número de participantes sino a los temas que en ella se vienen trabajando. Enfatiza en la importancia que han tomado los trabajos inéditos que sobre cultivos, procesos y usos fueron presentados y los beneficios que el desarrollo de este tipo de proyectos trae al sector palmero, pues la investigación y las diferentes experiencias contribuyen a mejorar la competitividad de las diferentes empresas. Invita, especialmente a los países latinoamericanos a iniciar, en la próxima Conferencia, un red tecnológica de la palma de aceite, en la que se unan esfuerzos humanos, económicos y de infraestructura, los cuales mejoren la competitividad de la agroindustria, pues no se justifica duplicar acciones cuando son muchos los problemas que se tienen en común. Destaca los avances que el sector palmero colombiano ha alcanzado a través de Fedepalma, en lo que a fortalecimiento del gremio se refiere, y Cenipalma en el área de investigación y soporte tecnológico para los cultivadores.
