Efeito da implantação de rodovias no cerrado brasileiro sobre a fauna de vertebrados = Effect of the implantation of roads in the brazilian cerrado on the fauna of vertebrates

A fragmentação de hábitat causada pela ação humana vem sendo um dosgrandes desafios para a biologia da conservação. A construção de estradas é um mecanismo de fragmentação de alto impacto, removendo a cobertura vegetal original, gerando efeito de borda e alterando a função e estrutura da paisagem, em contraste com a necessidade e o alto valor econômico imposto pela sociedade humana. Neste sentido, este estudo teve como objetivo avaliar o impacto da estrada na comunidade de fauna silvestre do Parque Altamiro de Moura Pacheco associada à presença da rodovia (BR-153/GO-060). Durante um ano depesquisa, foram registrados 141 animais mortos por atropelamento. Os resultados do presente estudo, conduzido de Agosto/2003 a Julho/2004, foram comparados e analisados com estudo feito entre os anos de 1996 e 1997, tanto ao nível de carcaças encontradas quanto ao nível de ambiente. De acordo com os dados apresentados, reforça-se a necessidade de haver um melhor planejamento ao construir estradas, principalmente próximos a ambientes preservados ou unidades de conservação.<br><br>The fragmentation of habitat caused by the action human being iscomes one of the great challenges for the biology of the conservation.
