Data of origin of the creeping thyme (Thymus serpyllum L.), its morphological characteristics, and biochemical composition are presented. There is multipurpose utilization of this crop: seasonings, aromatizing of drinks, in perfumery, in medicine as antiseptic, in landscaping. The farming culture, biological specificity of creeping thyme, and characteristic of new cultivar Aleksandrit are described.
