Primer registro de Trichopeltarion corallinus (Faxon, 1893) para el mar de Chile y nuevo registro de T. hystricosus (Garth, en Garth & Haig, 1971) (Decapoda: Brachyura: Atelecyclidae) First record of Trichopeltarion corallinus (Faxon, 1893) in Chilean waters and new record of T. hystricosus (Garth, in Garth & Haig, 1971) (Decapoda: Brachyura: Atelecyclidae)

Se registra por primera vez para Chile a Trichopeltarion corallinus (Faxon, 1893), decápodo de la familia Atelecyclidae. Los siete ejemplares analizados fueron obtenidos mediante arrastre de fondo en cinco sitios ubicados sobre el talud continental. Todos los ejemplares se encontraron asociados a fondos duros y al menos uno de ellos asociado a una zona recientemente descubierta de afloramiento de metano. Las estaciones se ubicaron entre 18° y 42°S y profundidades variaron de 507 a 992 m. Con posterioridad a la descripción original, la especie había sido registrada en Perú a latitudes de aproximadamente 10° y 17°S y profundidades de 860 a 870 m. Este primer registro de esta especie, extiende su distribución geográfica en aproximadamente 25° (alrededor de 2.775 km) hacia el sur, ampliando además su rango batimétrico. Por otra parte, la captura de un ejemplar macho de T. hystricosus a una latitud intermedia en relación a los registros anteriores (~22°S), confirma la presencia de la especie y del género Trichopeltarion en fondos duros profundos a lo largo del talud continental de Chile.<br>Trichopeltarion corallinus (Faxon, 1893), a decapod of the family Atelecyclidae, is recorded for the first time in Chile. Seven specimens were captured by bottom trawling at five sites on the continental slope. All the specimens were associated with hard substrates and at least one was associated with a recently discovered methane seep área. The stations were located between 18° and 42°S and at depths from 507 to 922 m. After its original description, the species was reported for Perú from approximately 10° to 17° S and at depths of 860 to 870 m. This first record of the species for Chile extends its geographic distribution about 25° (about 2,775 km) southwards and expands its bathymetric range as well. Moreover, a male specimen of T. hystricosus was collected at an intermediate latitude (~22°S) in relation to previous records, thereby confirming the presence of this species and the genus Trichopeltarion over deep hard substrates along the continental slope off Chile.
