The contents of this article is the Laudatio presented by the author before awarding professor Davide Pettenella with the title of Doctor Honoris Causa by the University of Suceava. Davide Pettenella promoted an ERASMUS agreement between University of Padova and Stefan cel Mare University of Suceava and personally was involved in our student faster integration in master and research programs. Our colaboration has been extended once with our common research from international project STARTREE FP7 regarding economical assessment of non wood forest product and in other research groups created in Cost Action E 30, E 50 and FP 1203.
