Previsão hidroclimática para o gerenciamento do banhado do Taim

A pesquisa desenvolvida nesta tese foi aplicada ao Banhado do Taim e teve quatro enfoques: a análise de possíveis correlações entre índices climáticos e a precipitação no Banhado do Taim; a verificação da qualidade da previsão de precipitação proveniente de modelos atmosféricos; a previsão hidroclimática de níveis com antecedência de até 6 meses; e por fim o estabelecimento de um conjunto de regras de retirada de água da Lagoa Mangueira, de forma a contribuir com o planejamento da utilização dos recursos hídricos com múltiplos usos. Os resultados das análises mostram uma relação entre os índices climáticos e a precipitação, que as relações dos períodos secos e úmidos não estão unicamente e diretamente ligadas aos fenômenos El Niño e La Niña e que a Oscilação Decadal do Pacífico (ODP) influencia na precipitação no Sistema hidrológico do Taim, variando proporcionalmente em relação ao sinal. Na verificação da qualidade da previsão de precipitação, os modelos apresentaram boa correlação com a precipitação observada, e aqueles que apresentaram melhores desempenhos foram: o modelo global com a Média dos Membros, o MRERS e o Modelo de regressão, embora os dois primeiros tenham subestimado a precipitação observada na grande maioria do tempo. A previsão de nível com base na previsão de precipitação apresentou bons resultados, com coeficiente de correlação ficando em média 0,95, e o coeficiente de Nash mostrou que o modelo é adequado. Na verificação dos erros em relação ao nível o modelo de Regressão linear mostrou-se melhor em relação aos demais modelos, embora o horizonte de previsão seja de apenas 3 meses. Na análise do último item, para a definição de preceitos para o uso da água foi estabelecida uma metodologia que permite a integração da previsão hidroclimática com as necessidades hídricas da fauna e flora representativas do Banhado do Taim através dos Índices de Qualidade Ambiental ou Curvas guias e a estimativa do real consumo de água para o arroz irrigado, permitindo definir com um horizonte de até 6 meses, critérios para o gerenciamento dos recursos hídricos, alocando água para a irrigação e conservação do ecossistema do SHT, proporcionando benefícios mútuos.

The research conduced on this thesis Project were applied for the Taim Wetland and had four main points: the analysis of possible correlations between climatic indexes and precipitation of the Taim Wetland; the verification of the quality of forecasts developed for precipitation obtained from atmospheric models; the “hydroclimatic” forecast of levels considering six months upfront; and finally the establishment of a set of rules of water removal from Mangueira Lagoon, in order to contribute with the management and utilization of water resources for multiple purposes. The results of analysis performed show a correlation between the climatic indexes and precipitation. Relation between dry and humid seasons are not solely and directly related to El Niño and La Niña events. The results indicate an influence of the “Ocilação Decadal do Pacífico (ODP)” on the precipitation of the hydrologic system of Taim, proportionally varying in relation to the signal. On the verification of the quality of the precipitation forecast, the models presented a good correlation with the observed precipitation. The models that had the best performance were the following: the global model with the average of the members, the MRERS and the backcast. The two first mentioned underestimated the observed precipitation most of the time. The level forecast based on the precipitation forecast presented good results, with an average coefficient of correlation of 0.95. The Nash coefficient indicated the model is suitable on the error verification in relation to the “Linear backcast” even though the forecast horizon is just three months. On the analysis of the last aspect of the study, the definition of the rule for water use, a methodology that allows the integration of hydroclimatic forecast was defined, with representative hydrologic needs of fauna and flora of the Taim Wetland by the quality indexes or “guide curves” and the estimation of the real water use for irrigated rice, allowing the definition of a six months horizon, water resources management criteria, allocating water for irrigation and conservation of the SHT’s ecosystem, providing mutual benefits.
