Breeding of a new interspecific hybrid of calendula variety 'Orea Neo'

We made a new variety of 'Calen' series, which are interspecific hybrid plant of Calendula arvensis and Calendula officinalis, by irradiation of ion beam to 50 seeds of 'Orea' and seedling selection. We named this new variety 'Orea Neo'. The characteristics of 'Orea Neo' are as follows; 1) Flower is as mostly same as 'Orea''s. 2) Plant posture is upright habit. 3) Cutting production efficiency is superior to the existing varieties's one.
