Short-time-production of laminated lumber using honeymoon-type water based polymer-isocyanate adhesives

Laminated lumber was produced using two kind of honeymoon-type water based polymer - isocyanate adhesives (H-WPI) by an equipment for short assembly time H-WPI consists of main ingredient contain acetacetyled poly (vinyl alcohol), hardner, and hydrazide conpound as an accelerator. Laminated lumber adhered using quick gelation-type H-WPI for pressing time of 1 min passed the boiling test of Japanese Agricultural Standard for Glued Laminated Timber. In case of using other H-WPI, it prepared for pressing time for 3 min passed the boiling test. Results of initial strength test for laminated lumber showed correlation between initial strength and delamination rate by the boiling test.
