Note
This item refers to a journal kept by Killip during his time in Peru and Brazil in 1929. Daily entries for 17 August through 15 November 1929 are included. The entries are long and narrative, and describe daily activities including collecting of plant specimens by Killip. Localities mentioned include Iquitos (Peru), Amazon (Brazil), Goeldi Museum (Brazil), and Pará (Brazil). A section labeled "Miscellaneous Notes" includes a list of botanical groups present in (presumably Killip's) collection. Also included is a detailed itinerary of travels in 1929, that lists locations in Peru and Brazil as well as: date; means of travel (steamer, auto, mule, etc.); miles of travel; number of days; number of plants collected en route; and number of plants collected at fixed base. Several detailed expense lists can be found in the back of the journal.
