Show more [+] Less [-]This project addresses knowledge, capacity and networking gaps on the theme of “Strengthening Urban Governments in Planning Adaptation.” Through a participatory process in five Southern African cities comprised of academics, communities and their local governments (Cape Town, South Africa, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania; Maputo, Mozambique; Windhoek, Namibia; and Port St. Louis, Mauritius), it facilitates knowledge-sharing to promote proactive climate adaptation and resource opportunities available for African cities, while developing Adaptation Frameworks, partnerships, and regional applicability. The International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives (ICLEI) – Local Governments for Sustainability is an international organization committed to sustainable development.
